ORLEN – Patron of Polish Culture

02/03/2025

ORLEN has for many years played the role of a patron of culture in Poland, supporting artists and cultural institutions. The company makes sure that access to world-class events is as broad as possible. The following are of particular importance ORLEN's partnership with the Fryderyk Chopin Institute, which promotes Chopin's heritage around the world, strengthens ORLEN's position as a patron of Polish culture and supports Warsaw as the capital of world pianism.

ORLEN's involvement in one of the most important classical music events in the world, which promotes outstanding pianistic talents and is a showcase of Polish culture, is in line with the Company's strategy emphasising corporate social responsibility. ORLEN is strengthening its position as a patron of culture, supporting both prestigious institutions and events and smaller but valuable local initiatives.

Cooperation with the Fryderyk Chopin Institute is a key partnership for us due to its international reach. As the piano capital of the world, Warsaw plays a special role in cultivating the legacy of Fryderyk Chopin by being a place that hosts artists, music lovers and connoisseurs from all over the world. The city where Chopin spent his youthful years celebrates the composer's legacy and provides a unique space for the creative development of pianism at the highest level.

‘Warsaw is the capital of world pianism - it is here that one of the most important music competitions has been held for more than a century, attracting the greatest talents and delighting music lovers all over the world’.

As part of this collaboration, in 2025 we are acting as:
- Patron of the Fryderyk Chopin Institute,
- Official Patron of the 19th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition,
- Patron of the International Music Festival ‘Chopin and His Europe’.

We also cooperate in the organisation of the International Chopin Competition on Historical Instruments, birthday concerts and the Requiem Concert - commemorating the anniversary of Fryderyk Chopin's death. As the Institute's sole Patron, we support the purchase of works and memorabilia related to the composer. Thanks to our involvement, the Fryderyk Chopin Museum in Warsaw was enriched with, among others, the composer's manuscripts - letters, manuscripts, including the unique Ballade in G minor inspired by the works of Polish Romanticism. ORLEN also provided funds for the purchase and reconstruction of historical pianos from Chopin's time.

Supporting the Chopin Competition, one of the most prestigious events in the world of classical music, which brings out the greatest pianistic talents and is at the same time a showcase of Polish culture, is perfectly in line with ORLEN's sustainable development strategy and our objective to promote Polish culture and national heritage. We want to be present where important things happen, both for Polish business and culture.
