Ticket sales for the Opening Concert and the 1st Winners Concert of the 19th Chopin Competition

Ticket Sales for the Inaugural Concert (2 October 2025) and the First Prize-Winners’ Concert (21 October 2025) of the 19th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition will begin on 9 September 2025 at 10:00 a.m.   Tickets will be available online at ebilet.com, as well as in person at the ticket desks of the Fryderyk Chopin Museum, located at Tamka 43 Street, Warsaw.

12 days of Preliminaries for the 19th Chopin Competition are behind us!

Today, at 8 PM in the Chamber Hall of the Warsaw Philharmonic, the last participant of the Preliminaries for the 19th Chopin Competition performed. After their recital, the Jury, chaired by Professor Piotr Paleczny, began deliberations. In just two days (May 6, 2025), we will find out which pianists will return to Warsaw in less than five months to compete for the title of winner of the 19th Chopin Competition.

The time of the Preliminaries to the 19th Chopin Competition is a good time to visit museums dedicated to the composer. The Fryderyk Chopin Museum in Warsaw and the The Birthplace of Fryderyk Chopin and Park in Żelazowa Wola are hosting temporary exhibitions, as well as piano recitals, lectures and classes for the youngest music lovers.

The Preliminary Round and the Chopin’s Method

'Chopin speaks little and seldom about his art; but when he does speak of it, he does so with remarkable clarity and confidence in his judgments, which could dispel any heresy, if only he chose to speak plainly. Yet he prefers the private realm, expressing himself truly only through his piano. Still, he promises to write a method that would reveal not only his craft, but also his artistic doctrine. The Preliminaries to the 19th Chopin Competition have begun!

Today, at 10 a.m., in the Chamber Music Hall of the Warsaw Philharmonic, a pianist from Japan began the Preliminaries for the 19th Chopin Competition with his recital. Until May 4, we will hear more than 160 pianists performing approximately 30-minute recitals, the program of which will include the etudes, nocturnes, scherzos and mazurkas of Fryderyk Chopin listed in the Rules of the event.

Preliminaries for the 19th Fryderyk Chopin International Piano Competition begin tomorrow!

Auditions will take place from 23 April to 4 May at the Chamber Music Hall of the Warsaw Philharmonic, daily in two sessions: a morning session from 10:00 a.m. and an afternoon session from 5:00 p.m.
