We know now the order of the performances in the Preliminaries of the 19th Chopin Competition!

The preliminaries for the Chopin Competition will be held in the Chamber Hall of the Warsaw Philharmonic from 23rd April to 4th May 2025, in two sessions: a morning session from 10 a.m. and an afternoon session from 5 p.m.

The pianists will perform ca. 30-minute recitals, presenting selected works by Fryderyk Chopin. From more than 160 artists the Jury of Preliminaries will select around 80 of the best pianists to take part in the October competition.

The 19th edition brought another record in terms of the number of applications. A total of 642 pianists from 54 countries entered the qualifying stage. The most numerous countries represented at the Preliminaries are China (over 60 qualifiers), South Korea, Japan, Poland, Canada and Italy, but we will also hear representatives from countries as far afield as Brazil, Thailand, Malaysia and Uzbekistan.
