Does the Institute provide accommodation for participants during the Competition?
The Institute will provide Competition participants with free board and accommodation for the following periods:
– Round one participants: 28 September to 9 October 2025
– Round two participants: 28 September to 14 October 2025
– Round three participants: 28 September until the end of the Competition
– Finalists: 28 September until the end of the Competition
with the provision that the participants will accept board and accommodation at the location indicated by the Institute.
Does the Institute reimburse travel expenses to and from Warsaw for the participants?
Competition participants will be reimbursed for their documented costs of travel to and from Warsaw to participate in the Competition (upon production of an invoice/ticket showing the participant’s name). In the event of the costs clearly exceeding what in the Institute’s opinion are justified expenses (e.g. indirect route, late booking, flying in a class above Economy, etc.), the Institute reserves the right to partially reimburse the participants for the costs, and the decision to this end will be taken by the Competition Director.
When is the latest to arrive and register at the Competition Office?
Each participant of the Competition should come and register at the Competition Office no later than September 28.
When will the drawing of the order of competition performances take place?
The drawing of the letter starting the alphabetical order of the performances will be held publicly on 30 September 2025.
How will the piano tryout be organised before the Competition?
Piano selection will be held on September 29, September 30 and October 1 at the Concert Hall of the National Philharmonic. The date and time of the selection will depend on the order in which the participants register to the Competition Office.
During the participant's selection of the instrument, no accompanying persons or outsiders will be allowed into the hall.
Where will be the Competition Office?
On the day of registration, September 28, the Competition Office will be located in the Conference Room at the Fryderyk Chopin Institute (43 Tamka Street, floor 1), while from September 29 until the end of the Competition in room 208 at the National Philharmonic Hall (entrance from 5 Jasna Street, floor 2).
How will the practice sessions be organised during the Competition?
The Institute will provide the opportunity to practise at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music (Okólnik 2 Street). Each participant will be able to practise during the hours allocated by the Institute.
Can changes be made to performance programmes, artist biographies or photos?
Any changes must be submitted to the Competition Office via mail konkurs@nifc.pl:changes to the programme are possible no later than 21 August and changes to the biography or photos no later than the end of July.
Are tickets provided for the participants of the Competition?
Unfortunately, tickets for the Chopin Competition are completely sold out, however there will be an opportunity to purchase tickets on the day of the performance at the Philharmonic Box Office.
