The Chopin Competition usually takes place every five years. The previous edition was held in 2021, so does it mean that the next edition will take place in 2026?
No. We hope that the one-year delay of the 18th Competition was an isolated case, after which the return to the five-year cycle, undisrupted since 1955, will be possible. The 19th Chopin Competition will be held in 2025.
Who can participate in the next edition of the Competition?
Pianists born in 1995–2009 who pass the qualification process and the Preliminary Round can take part in the Competition.
What is the deadline for application?
The deadline for applications will be provided in the Regulations of the 19th Chopin Competition, which will be announced to the public in January 2024.
When will the Preliminary Round for the 19th Chopin Competition be held?
The Preliminary Round for the 19th Chopin Competition is planned for end of April / beginning of May 2025 and will take place in the Chamber Hall of Warsaw Philharmonic.
When will the tickets for the Competition be available?
The tickets for the Competition will be on sale from 1 October 2024.
