Born on 30 September 2004, Michał Basista is studying at the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Krakow. For a decade, he has been tutored by Milena Kędra and honing his talents under Andrzej Jasiński, Janusz Olejniczak, Nikolai Demidenko, Marc Laforêt, Kevin Kenner and Ewa Pobłocka. He has been a semifinalist at the Borderland and Arthur Rubinstein In Memoriam competitions in Bydgoszcz. He has given recitals at the NOSPR HQ, the Royal Castles in Warsaw and Krakow, and performed with philharmonic orchestras in Žilina (Slovakia) and Krakow (Poland), performing twice with the Lviv Chamber Orchestra. He has received scholarships from the Ministry of Culture & National Heritage, the National Children’s Fund and The Rotary Club.
